Wear and Tear Explained

Lease vehicles should be returned in good condition, allowing for Normal Wear and Tear (refer to your lease agreement). Anything outside of Normal Wear and Tear may result in Excess Wear and Tear charges.

Exterior Body Panel

  • Normal Wear
    Up to three (3) dents per panel with a diameter up to
    101.6 mm (4”)
  • Excess Wear
    Four (4) or more dents per panel or any with a diameter greater than 101.6 mm (4”)

Tires

  • Normal Wear
    Tread depth of 3.2 mm (1/8”) or greater in all grooves except the outer grooves
  • Excess Wear
    Tread depth less than
    3.2 mm (1/8”), except the outer grooves

Wheels

  • Normal Wear
    Scratches and gouges up to 152.4 mm (6”)
  • Excess Wear
    Scratches or gouges greater than 152.4 mm (6”)

Some damage considered as Excess Wear and Tear may be covered by your insurance. Be sure to allow sufficient time for your claims to be processed/repairs completed before returning the vehicle.

You may be charged for unaddressed Excess Wear and Tear when the vehicle is returned.

Excess Kilometrage

If the kilometrage on your lease vehicle exceeds that allowed under your lease agreement, you will be responsible for the overage. Please refer to your agreement for kilometres allowed and excess kilometrage charges.
